It is less than a month away from Fiona's 1st Birthday. I can't believe we will have a 2 yr old and a 1 yr old. They are getting so big.
Over the weekend Ryan turned Keegan's crib into a toddler bed. She loves it. The first night she went upstairs and laid right in bed. After asking Ryan to stay with her, she quickly changed her mind and told him to "go downstairs". She slept there all night until about 5:30 in the morning. Keegan is doing lots of fun stuff, like saying her ABC's, singing all kinds of songs and we are trying to potty train this week while I am home.
Fiona is standing all the time and has taken a step or two here and there, but not walking just yet. Lately her personality has really started to shine. She is officially addicted to her baby doll. She has to have it all the time, even sleep with it. Keegan has been bad about taking the baby away from her, but yesterday she learned how to avoid that. Fiona was playing with her baby yesterday when Keegan came over like she was going to take the baby away, as she reached for it, Fiona held the baby away from Keegan. Every time Keegan would walk to the other side of Fiona to try and get the baby Fiona would switch hands and would hold the baby just out of Keegan's reach. Then finally Keegan got a hold of it. Fiona held on tight and finally won the tug-a-war and happily still had her baby. She is learning quickly how to deal with her big sister.
Fiona is also becoming a little mischievous. This morning she was eating blueberries in her highchair and she smiled at me and held a blue berry over the floor as if she was going to drop it on the floor. I said "No Nuggie" and she quickly brought the blueberry back to the tray. She continued to do this and was laughing everytime I would say "No Nuggie". She is testing me and it is so darn cute, I can't help but smile and laugh at her.
I am still learning that Keegan is way smarter than I think she is... I had the freezer opened the other day and she asked me for some ice cream. I quickly responded with "We don't have any" since it was not time to eat ice cream. She looked at me a little perplexed and then pointed to the carton of ice cream that I was unaware that she could see from where she was standing and said "Mommy, What is that?"... She shot me a little smile as if she was reminding me that I can't fool her as easily as I think.
We are looking forward to Fiona's 1st birthday over labor day weekend. We have the cutest decorations. Oh... Check out the new photos of the girls in the right column. They were taken by my awesome sister Olivia!
