Saturday = Awesome

Saturday was a good day. Fiona woke up a little early and then went backup sleep with Ryan and I. A couple hours later both girls woke up, I fed them, then I started a nice big breakfast for Ryan & myself. We had cheesy eggs, bacon and biscuits! Soon after breakfast Keegan, Fiona and I all took a nap. We LOVE our weekend naps!

When we woke up I got Keegan ready for her lunch date with my Dad (grandaddy). She was a little fussy so to keep her happy while dressing her and doing her hair we kept telling her she was cute and her hair was cute. After we were done she looked over at me, puts her hands behind her back and swings back and forth and says "I cute, I cute, I cute!". All I could do was laugh and think about how we have created a little monster! ;)

They went to lunch and Fiona was once again napping, so I took advantage of that time to shower and get ready for a special dinner date with Ryan! When Keegan returned she was worn out from lunch and playing with Grandaddy.

After a while we got the girls and ourselves ready and dropped the girls off at my parents while we went out for our special dinner.

Ryan and I treated ourselves to The Melting Pot! It was sooooooooooooooooo good! We started with the Wisconsin Trio fondue cheese, then we each had a delicious salad. Our main course was amazing, we had Lobster, Filet Minot, NY strip, Chicken, Bratwurst, Shrimp and Veggies. We ended dinner with the Flaming Turtle. It was an amazing dinner, with great food and it was nice to have a wondeful dinner alone with my husband.

Overall... It was an Awesome Saturday!

Fiona's got it under control

Our little Nugget (Fiona) recently began holding her own bottle. She does not do it all the time and she is not to the point where we can leave her to drink the entire bottle her own, but she is close and we are so proud of her. On one hand I am so happy to see her progress and watch her grow, but on the other hand I am sad that she needs me less and less everyday. Everyone tells you it goes by fast and you can get annoyed by everyone telling you that, but it is so true.

Nugget is also still getting used to eating real food. For the last couple of weeks we have been feeding Nugget rice ceral ever so often. She still does not get how to eat the food instead of spitting it out, but she is getting better. We soon think she will be eating a lot. Once she gets the hang of the rice ceral we plan on starting with Some veggies and then once she has those down we will then start fruit.

Stinker (Keegan) has been so cute in this process. As we feed Nugget her food Stinker encourages her with mmmmmm's. It is too cute. And when Nugget does not eat all of her food Stinker is ready to finish it off for her!

It is so fun having two girls and seeing how they interact. I know it will only get better and better.

Being a Mom is my calling

I ask myself everyday why I am so lucky to have two amazing, healthy and beautiful girls. I am amazed by them everyday. They surprise me everyday and everyday I love them more and more if that is even possible.

Ever since I was a little girl all I dreamed about was being a mother, having lots of babies and an amazing family. Dreams really do come true. I hope to have more babies one day, but we are on a break for at least 3 years.

I have a love hate relationship with my girls getting bigger! On one hand I LOVE watching them grow and learn, but on the other hand I HATE that they are growing so fast. I love my little bitty babies and love having an infant in the house, but it will be so nice to have a small break from the hard work an infant entails.

Thank you to all my wonderful friends and family! You ALL are amazing and have been so helpful in Ryan and my adventures of parenthood.

Happy Weekend to Everyone!

Playing in the SNOW!

It snowed close to 5inches in Louisville this week! I think if it is going to be cold, it better snow... so this was great! I got Keegan all bundled up and she could barely move. She just laid there and refused to get up. It was too funny!
Keegan has seen snow before, but this was the first time she was able to go out and play in it! At first she did not know what to think and just stood there, but soon she got used to it and began to run around and enjoy it! We were at my parents house so she was able to play with Jack and Zoe in the back yard.
Keegan fell and got snow all over her gloves and she demanded to take them off. I was okay with this since we were about to go in anyways, but of course the fun ended when Keegan fell again and did a face plant in the snow. She wanted to go in immediately after that! HA! The picture below actually show to process of the fall.

We can't wait for both girls to be big enough to play together in the snow and to even go sledding! We have a lot to look forward to!

Here is a video of the 1st fall and the reason she took off her gloves:

Our Baby Girl is Growing Up Fast!

Tonight we started Fiona on Rice Cereal. We sat her in the high chair and she sat there like a big girl! She did not fall over or anything. She was one happy baby.

Then it was on to try the Rice Cereal. At first she did not want to open her mouth for the spoon, but soon figured it out. She did not really grasp the concept of eating the rice cereal, just kind of let it sit in her mouth. We got some video... See below. We will continue to try the Rice Cereal every night and know that soon she will be eating it like a champ!

Healthy Babies!

Thursday both girls had their check-ups. Keegan's 18 month and Fiona's 4 month check-up.

Keegan weighed in at 27lbs (70th percentile) and is 34 1/4" tall (97th percentile). That is an increase of 1.5lbs and 1 1/4 inch since our last visit at 15 months.

Fiona weighs in at 15.6lbs (90th percentile) and is 25" tall (75th percentile). That is an increase of 3.7lbs and 2 inches since our last visit at 2 months.

Fiona did fantastic and just adored Dr. Nick Hinkebein. She cooed, laughed and smiled ear to ear at Dr. Nick. Almost like she was flirting. Keegan was another story, she did not want him to look at her, touch her or look in her ears, eyes, mouth, etc. Overall, both girls are very healthy. This appointment also marked the start of some exciting things for the girls. Keegan is ready to start thinking about and introducing a Toddler Bed and we can also start introducing the potty. We already purchased a potty and she seems interested, so we are already on a start with that one. We know that she is not going to go in the potty anytime soon and we are not going to push her at all. Just want her to be familiar with it. Fiona on the other hand can start eating rice cereal! YAY!
